I immigrated to Canada with my family when I was thirteen. I studied high school there and graduated with a university degree from York, the most well-known design program in Canada. Right after graduation, I worked for a designed studio, Costa Leclerc Design, in downtown Toronto for three years. Costa Leclerc is a design studio owned by a French Canadian and Portuguese couple. This multi-cultural working environment helped me to understand how to design for different cultural backgrounds, and also built my professional skills in both web and print design.
Three years ago, I have decided to relocate to Taiwan to continue my design career path in Asian. I first worked for a web agency - PRESCO from the Uni-President Corporation. During my stay with PRESCO, I led the construction of a corporate identity system for a traveling agency franchise. This project opened my eyes to the power of brand design for business.
Currently, I am working as a User Experience Designer for Yahoo! Taiwan. I have led the design for numerous high priority Media Group projects, such as News, Sports, Auto, and Online ATM. I worked closely with different business units, and this taught me how design could be used to support business objectives in the context of different business domains. Team-work with multi-disciplines, meeting extremely tight project schedules, strong inter-personal and communication skills are essential for my role and responsibilities. Through the many company conferences and trainings, I have also developed a great appreciation and deep understanding of the user-centered design concept. Furthermore, I have taken the initiative to develop my people management skills by training new-hires and mentoring design assistants.
I am a hard working, responsible, and an easygoing designer. With my unique background, strong design skills, and creative thinking, I believe I will make a significant and valuable contribution to your company.
